OPEN HOUSE AND DEDICATION OF

PARISH HOUSE APARTMENT

An Open House of the newly renovated and refurbished (the Fixer-Uppers) and furnished (Social

Ministry) parish house apartment was held on

November 22, attended by an enthusiastic and large number of members and friends. Marv and Maxine Berg, representing the Fixer-Uppers, and Vicki

Hergott and Kathy Davis, representing Social Ministry, were greeters with several serving refreshments.

Dedication of the apartment was held on Sunday, November 29, with members gathered in the parking lot adjacent to the apartment. Pastors Steve and Paul, through scripture and word, dedicated the “new” apartment as members, with arms outstretched toward the apartment  prayed for God’s blessing upon the homeless families, chosen by the OUR Center, to make their home transitionally in our parish house until permanent housing is found.

According to Edwina Salazar, we will receive more information regarding the family, chosen, soon. They will most likely be moving into the apartment before Christmas.

MORE WAYS TO MAKE A

DIFFERENCE

SALVATION ARMY KETTLES

In partnership with The OUR Center, the local

Salvation Army Service helps low-income families with shelter, food, rent, utilities, and prescription vouchers. You can again make a difference through their annual Christmas Bell-Ringing campaign, by contributing as you pass by and through volunteering. Call 303-772-5529.

ADOPT A FAMILY

Another way to make a difference in someone’s life this Christmas is to adopt a family for which you can provide basic needs as well as Christmas gifts.

HELP REFUGEE FAMILIES FROM NEPAL

Congolese refugee family, Mwenebitu and Dorcas Lupande and family, have welcomed three refugee families into their Denver complex. Though they were sent by a refugee service, they have no sponsor and thus are in need of many personal and household items.

If you are able to provide any of the following, bring to the church office:

towels, twin sheets, pillows, pillow cases,

blankets, dishes, silverware, mugs/cups,

warm clothing for 3-, 6-,15-year-old

girls; 10- and 12-year-old boys; and

22- and 24-year-old young men;

shoes of both children-size and adult-size (adult sizes 7 and 8) are needed.

Thank you for your generosity to those whose lives have been radically changed, having left their homeland due to persecution and poverty.

THANK YOU

I would like to extend a thank to everyone who helped work on the apartment, donated furnishings, miscellaneous items or cash. It has been amazing how it has all come together to create a comfortable home for a homeless family. Tenants will come to us through the Our Center; we expect to welcome our first family this month.” –Vicki Hergott

“What shall you do? Do good. Do all the good you can. Let your plenty supply your neighbor’s needs; and you will never want something to do. Can you find none that need the necessaries of life, that are pinched with cold or hunger; none that have not clothes to wear, or a place where to lay their head; none that are wasted with pining sickness; none that are languishing in prison? If you duly considered our Lord’s words, “The poor

have you always with you”  you would no more ask, “What shall I do?”                 - John Wesley
