Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat

THE JUBILATION CHOIR from St Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Bloomington, Minnesota will be presenting “Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat” at First Lutheran Church on Tuesday night, June 15, at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. Our church will be one of the stops on a summer tour to Colorado for this youth choir consisting of 40 seventh to twelfth grade youth. We are also looking for host families for the night of the concert. If you can open your house for one night and provide a bed for two or more students and breakfast, please sign up outside of Pastor Paul’s office or on the First Lutheran Connection in worship. A free-will offering will be collected to support this traveling group. This will be one more great opportunity during Vacation Bible School week.

Ride to the RanchOn July 17 and September 18, Sky Ranch will be sponsoring a bus ride up to Sky Ranch. The bus will begin in Denver and make several stops along the Front Range. At camp, there will be a nice lunch, a tour of camp, a short presentation / appeal, and a closing worship. The cost is $30 per person and Thrivent Financial (South Larimer Chapter) is matching funds for the July trip.

SUMMER CAMP: Adults are also welcome to go to camp at Sky Ranch. There are a variety of projects in relationship to skill level. Please contact Pastor Paul at 303-776-2704, or paul.judson@firstluth.org to register to help at camp during the same week that our students attend.  The cost is $25 per day.

CRUTCHES FOR HAITI

The Rotary Club of Longmont is collecting gently used crutches, leg braces, walkers, and canes to be shipped to the disaster area in Haiti. Many people have missing or broken limbs and the need is urgent. As soon as David Talbot, a Rotarian who founded “Crutches For Africa,” returns from a six week trip to Africa with another huge shipment, he will divert the crutches to Haiti. If you have any of these items, please bring them to the church. If you have questions, please contact Leona Stoecker, at 303-776-9210 or stoecker54@comcast.net. A tax deductible donation may also be given to Leona toward the shipping (about $3.00 per item) by check to David’s 501 C3 foundation “Crutches for Africa” or to the Rotary “Longmont Charity Fund” with “Crutches 4 Haiti” in the memo.
