Opportunities to Share Our Faith
Celebrating Our Spiritual Gifts and Pastor Leta’s Years at First Lutheran, Sunday, May 23, 9:45 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend our Volunteer Appreciation Celebration on Sunday, May 23 at 9:45 a.m. in the Friendship Center. This celebration will include “It’s A Wonderful Life at First Lutheran”, music, refreshments, and a special time to honor Pastor Leta Behrens as she concludes her ministry here.
Vacation Bible School Volunteers for June 14-18 Plans are in high gear for Vacation Bible School, which will be held from 9:00 a.m. till 12 noon. MANY VOLUNTEERS are still needed to serve as: Crew Leaders, Activity Leaders, Music Leaders, Nursery helpers, or Kitchen helpers. Please sign up on the bulletin board in the narthex, or talk to Gus Brockmann for information. Adults and youth are encouraged to sign up. Thank you!
Summer Worship Assistants Throughout the summer months, there are many opportunities for adults and youth to serve in these ministries: Lay Readers and Communion Assistants, (especially for 11:00 service), Communion preparation helpers, and Church bus drivers for 11:00 service. Please call the church office to serve in any of these ways. Thank you!
Newsletter Editor Thank you to Rob Behrens for serving as newsletter editor for the past six months. Beginning with the issue to be mailed mid-June, we are seeking someone to take over formatting and editing the pages which are submitted by church staff and members. Help Record 8:30 Worship Services Several more volunteers are still needed to assist with recording the 8:30 Sunday morning services. Training on the recording equipment will be provided. Please call the church office if you would like to serve in this way. Thank you.
Jubilation Choir Performing at First Lutheran “Joseph and the Technicolor Dream coat” will be presented by this 40-member youth choir from Bloomington, Minnesota, at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15 in our sanctuary. We need to provide overnight lodging in homes for the choir members, including breakfast the next morning. Please call the church office or sign up outside Pastor Paul’s office, if you would like to help share hospitality with these choir members. Thank you.
Special Appreciation and Many Thanks to… Christian Education Volunteers Much gratitude is shared with all who have served as Sunday School teachers and helpers, Confirmation mentors, and Adult study leaders throughout the school year.
New Member Reception on May 16 Thank you to everyone who provided refreshments and helped with serving for the new member reception on May 16. We also appreciate the service of Gerry Mueller, Jolene McKenna, and Kathy Friery, who helped lead the new member classes.
Music Ministry We are blessed by the commitment of all our various choir members, accompanists, directors, instrumentalists, and soloists, who share their musical gifts in worship services throughout the year.
