Whirl is a curriculum from Sparkhouse (which is part of Augsburg Fortress, the publishing house for the ELCA).

We are on a 5 year rotation with the Whirl Curriculum.  We spend 3 years hearing the same stories that the whole church hears in worship, then two years traveling through the Bible from the Old Testament to the New.  Check the main Whirl page to see this scope and sequence for this year!

A typical preschool morning at Sunday School looks like this:

9:45 – Preschool through 3rd grade gather in Room 5 for opening

10:00 – Split into Pre-K and 1st-3rd groups for the main lesson which includes a video, games, discussion, crafts . . . You get the idea

10:35 – Circle up to be sent out!  Wrap up any questions and get ready to live out the story for the week!

Whirl is intentionally designed to mirror worship with a time to Gather, a time around the Word and a Sending time at the end.
