 \nDaniel Lee Hoover\, 79\, of Longmont\, CO\, passed away on August 26\, 2
 026 from Lung Cancer. He was born on May 19\, 1947 to Cecil and Teresa Hoo
 ver in Pueblo\, CO.\nDaniel was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting an
 d fishing for much of his life. He was a graduate of Colorado State Univer
 sity with a focus on wildlife biology and a veteran of the United States A
 rmy. He had a prominent career as a deputy for the Boulder County Sheriff
 ’s Department during which he received The Meritorious Service Medal in 
 1995 and The Life Saving Medal in 2001. He ended his watch on November 25\
 , 2007 with the rank of Commander.\nHe will be deeply missed and remembere
 d as a loving husband\, father\, and grandfather. He is preceded in death 
 by his wife Patricia Ann Bailey\, and survived by his children Patrick Dan
 iel Bailey-Hoover and Rachel Elizabeth Bailey-Hoover\, and his four grandc
 hildren Rachel\, Finn\, Liam\, and Jackson.\nA service will be held at Fir
 st Evangelical Lutheran Church at 803 3rd Ave\, Longmont\, CO 80501 on Sep
 tember 19\, 2026 at 11am. Burial will follow at Burlington Cemetery at 150
