is an annual day of service organized by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). In 2025, this event will be held on September 7. It's a day for ELCA congregations to participate in various service projects to demonstrate their faith and love for their neighbors.
Community Service Project we will be participating in are below!
The OUR Center - Sunday School participants will divide large bulk rice and beans into separate zip-lock portions for the OUR Center.
The Inn Between - Sorting and bagging household & personal care items (i.e. laundry detergent, dish soap, body wash, personal hygiene items for men, women, children, cleaning supplies, sponges, paper towels, toilet paper, back-to-school individual size snacks for lunches.)
Personal Hygiene Bags - For those in need and the Little Free Pantry.
Lutheran World Relief Quilts - Tying off Quilts from FLC to send to Lutheran World Relief for disaster response.
First Lutheran Kitchen Cleaning - The FLW will be contributing to God’s work our Hand’s by a deep cleaning of the downstairs Kitchen and the Big Room Kitchens. A sign-up sheet is located on the FLW bulletin board located outside the Big Room. This activity will benefit our Congregation and outreach to the many groups that use our facilities.
Please drop off all donations to Maria’s office by Friday, September 5!
We will kick-off with a quick prayer following worship and begin service projects in various locations. Pizza will be served in the FLC Friendship Center after the service projects!
