This installation service of Deacon Korra was on Saturday, May 10 at 5:30 p.m. with a reception following. Pastor Sara Wirth from the office of the Rocky Mountain Synod, ELCA preached.
The installation was also recognized on Sunday, May 11 at the 9:30 a.m. worship service with a reception following.
Deacons are rostered leaders of the ELCA just as Pastors. The difference being that Deacons are called to word and service ministry whereas Pastors are called to word and sacrament. Deacons are not called to perform baptisms or preside over communion. They are called to be a bridge between the church and the community.
